Exceptional Education

“I love Atlanta! Atlanta is a historic city — the home of the civil rights movement, The Carter Center and The King Center; an arts city — from the High Museum of Art and Atlanta Ballet to the National Black Arts Festival and the Alliance Theatre; a sports city — with the Braves, Falcons, Hawks, and Thrashers; and, most of all, a caring city — where you can work, play and raise a family.”

Mayor Shirley Franklin

The largest consortium of black colleges in the world, Atlanta University Center includes six institutions.

Founded in 1867, Clark Atlanta University and Morehouse College were two of the first universities to educate African-Americans.

Other institutions include Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College, Morris Brown College and Interdenominational Theological Center, the largest center of religious education for African-Americans in the country.
