Faith and Spirit

• Atlanta is home to hundreds of houses of worship. Ebenezer Baptist Church is where three generations of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s family have preached since 1927.
• Other prominent African-American churches include Wheat Street Baptist Church, Big Bethel AME Church, and Friendship Baptist Church. Bishop Eddie L. Long and The Rev. Bernice King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. preach at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, the largest predominantly African-American church in the Southeast. World Dome, the 8,500-seat sanctuary of the World Changers Church International, is in the College Park suburb.
• Buckhead is home to numerous churches, including New Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church, the Cathedral of Saint Philip, the Cathedral of Christ the King, and the nation's largest Presbyterian congregation at Peachtree Presbyterian. The neighborhood also houses two of the country's largest Southern Baptist congregations at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church and Wieuca Road Baptist Church.
• The Jewish faith is represented by Ahavath Achim Synagoguem and the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation is nearby on Clairmont Road.
