Festivals of Many Cultures

With large and growing Latino and Asian communities, it's no surprise that Atlanta is home to many international festivals.

Some of the biggest and best-known include:

Festival Peachtree Latino at Underground Atlanta, and its parade celebrating the cultures of 22 countries

Feria Latina at Stone Mountain Park in April combines carnival rides, live music and Latin cuisine with various other activities.

El Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), in October is an ancient festival rooted in Mexican heritage.

Celebrate the Dia de los Reyes in January (Three Kings Day), with storytelling, music, live performances, food and fun; (404) 814-4000. The Mexican Consulate, the Instituto de Mexico and the Fulton County Arts Council co-sponsor both of these events at the Atlanta History Center.

Atlanta Festivals GuideMajor Asian festivals, including JapanFest (September) at Stone Mountain Park and the Asian Cultural Experience (July) at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.

The Sweet Auburn SpringFest in early May is an Atlanta tradition for two decades and features live performances; a literary festival; a BBQ Cook-Off; children's activities; and the Latino Experience, a celebration of Latin culture.
